Well, this baby seems to have turned me off junk food completely!!!!! Although I do seem to be consuming copious amounts of cheese - way more than I used to. I've also had really bad morning sickness, so my main focus now is just trying to keep ANYTHING down! I'm really trying to drink more water too, which can be awkward when you're running to the loo all the time! I was never a caffeine junkie, but all of a sudden, I'm craving bottles of ice cold diet coke!

Before I got pg I was dieting and was eating healthy, now I cant stand vegetables, the thought makes me want to hurl, and I love a good old cooked dinner. Im prob not drinking enough water, although I have squash so I guess that has water in it lol. I fear I am not eating healthy enough because all I fancy is bread and pasta loads of carbs. Hopefully when the nausea gets less I will be able to eat better.

I ate absolute crap for the first few weeks but I've stopped now. To be honest I'm just eating normally like I did before. I've not gave myself the 'im pregnant so i can eat what i want' excuse but I've not been silly and i do get my 3 meals a day in. Also, I try and drink a glass of milk everyday. Baby steals our calcium for its bones so you really need the extra boost if you don't want your teeth to go horrid!

I'm finding it really hard eating or drinking healthy at the moment. I feel so sick all the time and nothing is lasting in me more than 20 mins at the moment. I was a bit smug at first as was feeling sick all the time but not actually being sick, I think this is morning sickness with vengence now... Water makes me want to heave just looking at a glass but can cope with squash for a short while. Also craving coke but it doesn't stay down (but is nice and sweet when it comes back...!) I've lost quite a lot of weight in last week, anyone else noticed this? Keep thinking I should phone midwife but don't want to look nurotic, and if I'm honest don't want to be admitted to hospital either....

Hi - I was a bit of a caffeine freak before I found out I was pg but I am now trying to limit myself to 2 cups of coffee a day. I do find that I am drinking more water than I used to and even though I don't have m/s yet, I find that it helps to keep the nausea at bay. I've never been a lover of fruit but am trying to make a conscious effort to eat more fruit and veg

If you're not keeping food or water down, you really should see your midwife or GP. I had severe morning sickness (hyperemesis) and had to be admitted to hospital. I really didn't want to go in, but at the end of the day, you have to keep yourself healthy in order to keep your baby healthy.

Neece,

I know you're right. I've just called the midwife, think I needed that push. Waiting for call back now, think I may as well go and pack my overnight bag and get it over with. Thanks for the 'sensible push' I needed. x

That's ok love, it's all for the best. And you'd be surprised how good hospital food tastes when you've not been able to eat for a while!!!
