I'm Currently Feeling: | work experience girl - WARNING - may offend I go to a day nursery for my placement..there was a girl there on work experience from a school..she was 15...we were outside and one of the children took their coat off..and i told him to put it back on cause its cold..but he threw himself on the floor..so i got one of the nursery nurses to do it..cause the only way to put his coat on was to carry him..and i couldn't lift him...i explained to her that i would have to get another nursery nurse to do it...because im pregnant..this girl..looked at me and she was so shocked..and then she admitted that she might be pregnant because she is a week late..and i asked her whether she would keep it if she was...she said that she would abort it...i know its wrong to feel annoyed when people say this to me...cause it seems like she hadn't taken a thought about it..i just hope she thinks about what she is doing...its a little miracle..how can people just rush into things like that?...im sorry if this is a bit of a touchy subject, i just dont agree with it...i only agree with it if the pregnancy is a health risk...but a lot of teenagers just seem to think of it as a form of contraception..why not just be careful? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I totally agree! Why not just be careful! I have to admit tho...2 years ago when hubby and I found out we were expecting it was SUCH a shock, being on 21 I didnt feel ready and for a MOMENT, a tiny 2 second moment I though abortion was the way to go...then the moment I said it to my hubby I followed it by "omg NO we are not doing that!!" unfortunatly it ended in a mc but to this day I still feel bad about even having the THOUGHT, that 2 second thought of doing that! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | yikes. I agree with you and am completely against abortion unless the pregnancy is a health risk. i come from a family who could not have children, I am adopted, and I know that even when someone jokes about abortion it hurts me....this is completely ridiculous. I know what my parents have gone through with not be able to conceive and the thought that they can just make a huge decision with out flinching makes me sick. I am sorry you even had to hear her say something like that.
thanks for sharing! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I can understand why you'd feel like that, you're so excited about your LO you couldn't possibly change that, I do however know that there are people out there who aren't ready and it is them who have to make that decision, which must be a hard one. |

If it weren't for my birth mums courage in giving me up, i would never have the life i have today.
I am not sure how it is where you are from, but here we are having a huge shortage of adoptive parents, and alot of children being put in foster care because the right steps for care of the child were not taken in the beginning.
Your opinion though.... |

| She's very young. Though I myself don't feel abortion is the best option, I do think that if I got pregnant when 15, I too would have had an abortion. My views have changed now, because I find abortion in many cases unnecessary. But I don't think she's a bad person for thinking like that.
The argument that people are desperate to adopt is very true. But to expect a 15 year old girl to carry to full term to then go through birth to then give it away is very soul destroying.
I have a couple of friends who have had abortions. It's very very sad but we must try not to judge them. The decisions weren't taken lightly. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | yeah, i dont like when people talk about aborting it , if they dont want it least they can do is give it up for adoption to people who cant have babies and really want one... i think it is sad... i myself would never bring my self to do something like that.. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | My view on abortion has always been only if its a health risk or in some circumstances that would be best for all involved although it shouldnt be taken lightly
The thing is, what is better that this 15 year old has an abortion or for her to have the baby and not know how to care for it or bring it up, she is very young and may resent the child for a missed teenage life, I think in this case it may be better to abort, there are so many unwanted children these days with parents who just dont seem to care and the children just do what they like and that then stems into them getting into crime when they are older as they have not been bought up to respect anything or anyone and have no disipline or respect for authority, I do acknoledge this isnt always the case and im sure there are young mums and dads out there who do a fantastic job
This girl seems very immature and i just hope taht her parents have spoke to her about contraception etc and the consequences
This is just my opinion though, other peoples may differ |
