Stressed...

Hello.

I've got a crazy amount of stress in my life right now and I'm having a hard time sleeping. I know stress is not good for the baby and am trying to deal with it as well as I can but just wondered if anyone knows just how bad stress can be for the LO? Anyone have any stress-busting techniques that are fool-proof?

Thanks.

stress isn't good for the LO or you, not sure what it can do, I was fairly stressed with Lilly when i was 6 months preggers which increased my BP and i ended up with mild pre-eclampsia.

I'm not saying this will happen to you, but it's the only example I have of stress in pregnancy. Hope you manage to relax and enjoy it!! I cannot stress enough to you to enjoy every single moment of it, because even though it seems to drag, it's over quicker than you know

I totally hear you about the stress -- there's always something in my life stressing me out! Like this afternoon I have to give a public speech to my boss' boss' boss and other higher ups. So I have spent all yesterday night and all this morning dreading it and stressing that I'm going to screw it up, and it makes me sick to my stomach and have a terrible time sleeping (kept waking up last night!).

I was worried about the same thing you are, too much stress, but I read that as long as the stress isn't extremely severe (like panic attack severe) or very prolonged, that the baby should suffer no ill effect. I mean, I'm a pretty big worrier, but my BP is fine, and LO is doing well. I'm sure the stress today isn't good for him (he's kicking like mad), but it'll be over soon and then back to normal. Hopefully you'll be able to kick your stressor soon, too!
