Bleeding, 5wks, tampon?

Yesterday afternoon I tested with a first response and a clear blue digi and got bfp with both. Was to take a sample to the docs for testing this morning but I am now bleeding - it started light is getting heavier and is red although I only see it when I wipe it isn't transferring to my pants like it would with AF.

I am one week late and think I would only be 5 - 6 weeks preg.

Have phoned docs for some advice but they haven't phone back and I have to go to work soon. This seems like a v silly question but should I put a tampon in? I am trying not to worry and hope the bleeding stops and its not too late but it doesn't look good. I would wear a pad to work but only got panty liners. I am really gutted and not sure how I am gonna cope in work but kind of feel phonin in with an excuse will make everything worse.

Am crossing my fingers so tight that this is not the end.

No, dont put a tampon in, just wear panty liners, your doc will be able to take a swab should he need one.
You shouldent wear tampons when you are pregnant, so just stick with the panty liners.

I agree with all the posters. Please get checked out.

And, no tampons. A definite No-No during pregnancy.
