Question

1st U/S - 7wks3d - Yolk sac, fetal pole, no heartbeat?

Hi there!

I went for my first u/s yesterday. Dr. saw a yolk sac and a fetal pole, but no heartbeat yet.

I took blood tests this morning for progesterone and hcg. I will have the first set of results back tomorrow...then I'll take another set of tests on Friday. I am going back for another u/s next Tuesday.

Has anyone else been this far along with the same results?

Doctor thinks I may actually be earlier in my pregnancy simply because of the 72-hour window of conception and ovulation day window of opportunity.

Thanks! JM

With my 3rd baby they sent me for a scan at 6 weeks, and the sonographer saw a sac and a fetal pole, but no heartbeat, I had to wait an agonising 2 weeks for another scan, but they found a heartbeat the second time. I think sometimes they send you for scans too early. Hope this reassures you a bit. xx
