hi there seen this post i am resus o negative i found out when i had my bloods done in a few of my pregnancys i have had bleeds ,they give u the anti d injection to protect the baby as sometimes the blood can pass over to the baby and its precaution just in case baby is diffrent blood group to yourself or can be the same ,

they give the injection when you pass 12 wks and have bleeds on my son i had bleeds every other week from 14 weeks and everytime i had to have the injections painful to have but at least my baby was protected ,,hope this helps in some way ....

Hi everyone, i have just found out i am AB- im trying not to worry and hoping everything will be ok. Just after my nuchal scan on monday came back fine i thought i could finally relax, know i find out this

theres nothing to worry about hun.. My doctor gives me a blood test to check my antibodies a couple of times while im pregnant.. midwife or doctor will give you the jab while you are giving birth too.. no worries hun

Ok thanks, yeah my obstatrican told me not to worry, so i spose i should try not to think about it.

im AB- too. i have had 2 MC since july (not coz of AB-) and the first one i had to have the anti D shot, its nothing to worry about, its normally on yr second baby they give you a shot at 20 something weeks and also in labour. Now im preggers AGAIN I will need a shot part way through, its incase mine and bubs blood mix. My sister and mum are too...both had 3kiddies, not a problem!!!xx

I'm o rhesus negative and just found out....it's amazing that they can't just give your husband a quick blood test to see what he is???? so a shot (or 3!) it is!

Seriously nothing to worry about ladies. I think if it were the oldin days, we'd be in trouble, but now a days...we're going to be just fine.

I had a mmc and had the anti d injection afterwards. I was told i had to have this to make sure my blood didnt reject any future foetuses (seems reasonable). Seems wierd that you girls had different advice, i wonder what the answer is!
