I'm Currently Feeling: | 12 weeks and still no OBGYN appointment.... Hi again,
So I am not scheduled for my first OBGYN appointment until August 11th, which is why you will be seeing me post a lot of questions until then.
Should I go to my GP and get him to give me an ultrasound referral just to ensure everything is okay and to make sure their is a heart beat?
thanks....

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't think that you necessarily have anything to worry about, but if I were in your position, I'd go to my GP to get an ultrasuond referral...simply because I would be too excited to wait so long to see my baby!!
Just a crazy anecdote I wanted to share....In the city where I live (Ottawa), there is a MAJOR doctor shortage problem. MAJOR. One of the worst in north america. Anyway, a girlfriend of mine didn't have a doctor. She just couldn't find one accepting patients. She hit the.....ready for this?.....6 months pregnant mark...and still hadn't seen a doctor. I swear...I didn't know how she kept her sanity.
She eventually found one and saw the doctor for the first time at 7.5 months pregnant. Insane, eh?
She went on to deliver a very healthy baby boy....6 weeks after meeting her doctor for the first time! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | There's a doctor shortage here in Peterborough, ON as well. I've got my first OB appointment scheduled for July 18th - I'll be 12 +4 the first time I meet my doctor, and my first scan isn't until a week and a half later. |
