Hi babes,
I had this surgery when I was 19 - so 5 years ago. At the time of the operation they told me I would need a stitch when/if I became pregnant/decided to have children. As soon as I got pregnant I paniced and paniced about this!! I explained all to my midwife and she almost brushed it off and said oh no you'll be fine. At 15 weeks I had some pains and was refused any treatment by my hospital thats another story (on another thread) so me and my OH went for a private scan where the lady checked my cervix and said it was a good length and closed etc and the pains were more than likely typical preggo pains and me being paranoid, worried and anxious about the stitch wasn't helping but after all that.... I've now been told because I had quite a large proportion of my cervix removed alot of it will be scar tissue and scar tissue will not dilate - resulting in a c-section. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see but as far as I am my cervix hasn't proved to be incompitent so fingers crossed for you too chick!!!
Sorry thats a bit long I just wanted to re-assure you!!
xxxx

Hi, thank you to everyone for all your support it has been so reassuring to have you all here. I just wanted to let you know that I've spoken to my doctor and midwife today and they've moved my consultant appointment forward to next wednesday (the 16th) they said I shouldn't worry too much and that the consultant will be able to look properly at my surgery notes, do a scan and decide what to do next. They told me that in most cases it's just a precaution and they'll just keep a bit of a closer eye on me. So I'm doing my best to keep calm and just take it easy until next wednesday - I foresee lots of time spent lying on the sofa!
Thanks again - I'll keep you posted xx
