ooh you're right but I only work part time so I get £740 a month. My SMP and OML will add up to atleast 90% of my full pay anyway >.< so basically I do get 26 weeks of almost full pay. I don't think you get weeks 26-52 paid at all though. I just looked it up. It says any further weeks after week 26 of half pay + stat pay are unpaid up until week 52?

How do you mean it makes no sense??

I wouldn't mind paying taxes back if everything in this country was done as you suggest but in England it doesn't work like that we pay our taxes for money to be wasted and spent badly

Nope def is after the 8 weeks then 18 weeks i get statutory maternity for 13 weeks then 13 weeks unpaid. Checked with HR as i sooo want the 9 months off! But def cant afford the year! I wish! xxx

omg i will. i rly hope i qualify for it too b/c I'd LOVE the 9 months off. I can't afford the year either
