BTW, most Canadians don't get topped up to 96% of salary- the EI (Employment Insurance) fund only covers 55% for a year; select employers (mostly government, military, some unionized jobs, etc) top up to 95% or higher.

ooh you're right but I only work part time so I get £740 a month. My SMP and OML will add up to atleast 90% of my full pay anyway >.< so basically I do get 26 weeks of almost full pay. I don't think you get weeks 26-52 paid at all though. I just looked it up. It says any further weeks after week 26 of half pay + stat pay are unpaid up until week 52?
