I'm Currently Feeling: 


Arrgghh Constipation AGAIN


This is the 3rd time now in just over a week, Im so uncomfortable, I just cant deal with it, Ive taken 15ml of lactulose again so it should budge later, Ive even been eaten more fruit (as much as im not allergic to) and started on pure fruit juices and drinking more water but still going through this, Im starting to think its a little bit psychological now aswell, I might mention it when I see the midwife whenever that will be or visit the gp if it keeps happening

Yeh i've been constipated for a week now. Well I don't feel all bunged up but I've gained 4lbs LOL and i don't feel like I need to go ;(

My body wants to go but I cant do it so I have to hold it back or at other times I want to go but just nothing happens and im worried about pushing, Ive had this problem since i was little but it is worse now im expecting, Im sure Ill go later as ive taken the lactulose but i just feel awful now and im abit worried that ive had to take this medication again although as far as im aware its ok in pregnancy

I'm Currently Feeling: 


My doctor put me on lactulose as well but not sure how effective it is. i find that a big glass of pure orange first thing helps the most.

A nurse told me to take a couple of squares of dark chocolate...anything's worth a go!

If you can stand it, you could try mixing psyllium fiber into your morning juice (or another fiber preparation) and that should really help, but make sure you get enough liquids when taking something like this. Other things that will get things moving: fruit (dried or fresh, fresh is best), bran cereals, raw veggies, lots of liquids (nothing with caffeine), bananas (they soften & bulk stool), and hot water with lemon (read this in a pregnancy book, it's supposed to stimulate the body to go).
