Dating scans are to determine the age of the baby. Aparently they all develope at the same rate up until 12wks so a standard measurement can show how old they are. As for how old you think and that. It's down to ovulation and conception dates I think.

Originaly I calculated my due date using my longer cycle of 32 days whereas the doc used standard 28 days. Guess who was right? Me of course because noone knows your body like you do.

How do you calculate your due date from a 31 day cycle!? The doctors have only been using 28 for me

Any of the tickersites have electronic date finders where you can choose your cycle length as well as your LMP.

I did it and it was spot on to what my dating scan came out at.

Erm I think I already said that bit. Sorry.

my dates are so wrong. and the midwifes/scanning ppl wont listen. They are telling me that i am due 5 jan but i have worked that back and if that is the case i tested b4 my period was due and got a positive (a very strong positive) and then a further 10million b4 i went to see the doc the week after. if my dates are right im due just efore xmas. we'll wait and see i suppose.

From LMP I am 8 weeks 5 days. But if they put me back to the day I conceived i'm only gonna be 6 weeks 5 days. Its annoying, I hope they dont do that, becuase I feel so good that I'm near 3 months WOOHOO. Your so close to me aswell. Im due January 31st if I calculate myself with the length of my cycle which is 26 days. But doctors give you a cycle of 28days so they put my due date at 3rd February.
