Crazy Ultrasound Dates.. Anyone had this? Hello Ladies.
First of all I apologise if this is long, but I really do need advice from anybody if possible.. please bear with me!
I'm currently in the first Trimester of my first pregnancy.. To confirm my pregnancy after my bloods came back positive, my doctor had me go for an ultrasound. According to my EDD (taken from first day of LMP), I was supposed to be 6 weeks & 6 days pregnant, however when I had my scan done the ultrasound doctor said that I was 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant!
This makes sense as I usually OV on the 17th/18th day of my 28 day cycle.. so the baby would def be younger than the estimated 6 weeks and 6 day cycle.
However, I was told to come back today for another ultrasound, exactly 7days later, (because last week it was too early to see a heartbeat). Today they said I was only 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant!!! (Which makes the fetus 2 days younger than it should be seeing as 7 days have passed - not 5). WHY is it that ultrasounds come back with different ages and due dates of the fetus each time you get a scan done?
Is it normal for scan's to be 'off' by up to 5 days this early in the pregnancy?
(I heard that the earliest scans you get are the most accurate in dating, but the 2 I have had have said two different dates?).
Thanks for reading this far,
