Cesarean


hi all
i really want a Cesarean this time after the trauma i had at last birth (8lb 11oz face presentation baby with no pain relief as the MW said it was 2 late) does anyone know if im allowed to demand one??

I think demand would be a bit of a strong word to use but you could certainly speak to your midwife about your concerns and express your desire to have a c-section. Although having had two myself I would strongly recommend you read up on it and also it's worth bearing in mind, that no two pregnancies are the same let alone labours!

have same issues here - Amy determined to have c-section. I know my girl very very well and I just dont think she's equipped for it either mentally or physically and ye I know the female body is made for it, but everyone is different. Spoke to MW about it and she was very good. But we have to be referred to a psychologist. Psychologist has to agree that it would not be in the interest of either the baby or yourself for you to go through 'natural' child birth in order to get one. At least thats how it works here in this area. Maybe its different there I have no idea if I'm honest.
