I'm Currently Feeling: | This is your pregnancy-something that should be memorable and wonderful. I think you need to look into finding another care provider. Where do you live? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | well i took a nap, trying to wrap my head over the idea that its ok, it's so hard. there's only 2 practices here, the one i went to was the larger one, the other one is just a 2 doctor private practice. i am just scared because this pregnancy really hasn't "hit me" completely...im just scared im not getting attached to baby as i should be, i was hoping if i see it i'll believe it. ugh, i feel awful for saying that!
i'll try and talk to some friends about it without bawling my eyes out...they've lived here longer than me and might know a private scanning place or something. i hope so anyway. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am sorry your appointment did not go well Samo. It is weird that they don't do any ultrasounds there - usually pregnant women get two (one around 12 weeks and one around 20 weeks). Maybe, phone them up and pressurise them about it.
If you do go for a private ultrasound, shop around on the internet as prices do vary enormously. Also the $300 - $400 might be for the 3D/4D scan which are more expensive. When I was 14 weeks pregnant and fed up waiting for the NHS to find a space to fit me in, I went for a private one in Edinburgh that worked out about £100
($200) for a 2D scan (the same as you would get in a hospital). I have heard that you can get even cheaper than that - around £60 ($120) in some places.
If you don't decide to go down this route, have you thought of investing in a doppler to listen to the heartbeat. The Angelsounds one is really good and costs about £40.
Good luck!

I'm Currently Feeling: | Really hope that you can get something arranged soon hun.
It's so important to see the baby at around 12 weeks...to prove to yourself that all the awful pregnancy symptoms are actually worth something!
If you have to go private for a scan I think you'll find that you can't put a price on peace of mind, you'll be glad that you did it.
However, I never heard of a healthcare provider not offering antenatal scans! That's really poor!
Stay strong chick |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Don't feel bad for saying that you feel like you can believe it more when you see it... I have been thinking that all along as I am sure most of the other women have. That is awful what they said... I hope your friends have some good advice for you. xxx |
