I'm Currently Feeling: | Called for blood test results :( So My m/w told me that if I didn't hear anything about my blood test results then everything was OK, but I didn't like that so called anyway. And when I called the receptionist went quiet and then went off. Came back and said there is a note to say the Dr needs to speak to you. Said my doc isn't in so won't be until Monday, so I said get any Dr to call me as I am worrying. So she said OK.
OMG I am stressing big style now. I guess the Drs are out for lunch so no one is there to demand to talk to |

| You've got to remember that it's just a risk factor. It doesn't mean 100% your baby will be born with an abnormality. And honestly, it's not the end of the world if your baby has downs syndrome. Try and stay positive.

I'm Currently Feeling: | try not too worry too much. You know what drs receptionists can be like, they won't admit anything they don't have to, don't blame them really! So it might be something and nothing. If it gets later in the afternoon and still no word cal them back. Fingers crossed 4 ya |

I'm Currently Feeling: | He called back and just said I had some kind or germ in my urine that could be an infection but also may not be but nothing to worry about and if i get any symptoms to pop down. Not all my results were back. I asked him about the HCG levels and he said it didn't show anything so may not have been back. Do they test the HCG in the blood or urine? I would have thought if it was urine it would show as that test is back same with the blood... anyone know if they actually test HCG in first bloods? and if so how long do they normally take*shrugs* |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Glad to hear it's nothing serious.
HCG levels are usually taken from blood tests. Sorry, not sure how long it takes to get the tests back, probably depends on if they've marked it as urgent and how busy the lab is. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The Dr usually says what he wants testing on the request form that goes with your bloods. HCG is sometimes tested for just to detemind you're pregnany ie. like a HPT or a full count of the HCG can be requested.
