Pregnancy after a miscarriage..

So I am almost 6 weeks pregnant. And Im totally scared! Not because Im pregnant, but because I had a miscarriage in Feb at 7 and a half weeks. We went to the doctor yesterday and he has restricted everything I can do. We can't have sex..which made my fiance a little long in the face. I can't lift anything heavy, I can't work out, I have to go to bed as early as possible (which is fine, since I want to sleep at like 7pm these days!), I have to stay off my feet as much as possible and no taking any prenatal vitamins!

I am totally ok with all of this, but it makes me so scared something is going to happen again.

Has anyone else dealt with this situation before?

I could really use some happy ending stories and words of encouragement.

One more thing...not as related..But I really want to tell my mom, just because she was such a support last time. But I am worried for a couple of reasons...
1. Because we are only engaged and not married yet (shes old fashion..even though we weren't even engaged before!)
2. Because I dont want her to be hurt if something happens. And yet I want her there if something does.

We are planning to get married before the baby comes. We were before the baby came into the picture anyways! We never wanted anything huge or fancy. Just our parents and maybe some close family and friends. Should I wait till I know the wedding is happening before telling her? Or just tell her anyways and reassure her we are getting married before the baby comes?

Or am I crazy and does it even matter?!

Thanks!

You are not alone. Before this pregnancy, I had two missed miscarriages from genetic problems. So far for me being at this point is a complete miracle. All I can say, is take say by day, I know how hard that is. Just breathe, and not worry yourself with he 'what if's' because all the worry will do more damage then needed.

Hi nkbapbt! Congaratulations and welcome to 1st Trimester perfectly normal you being scared, I am to as i had a mc only 3 months ago, like carley said you just have to take each day as it comes and try and stay positive until you have a reason to think otherwise although i know that its easier said than done! sending you positive sticky vibes, the chances of miscarriaging twice in a row is 1 in 25 (4 in a 100 sounds better!)so relatively small odds really, as for telling your mom i told mine along with OH and not another soul as she keeps her eye on me and helps me with the 2 ive got already if i need it xxx

firstly CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

as the other lovely ladies have said we have all been through the same thing*

i had missed m/c in feb and here i am now just into my second tri

as Carley said, one day at a time, just keep in the moment and say to yourself 'im pregnant today and thats all that matters'.

worrying is no good for that little babe, tho its impossible not to do i know!!!!

try and enjoy it, get lots of rest when u need it and most of all have faith*

as for being married, me and my fella are engaged been together 9 years but wont get married till after babe is here, we want to enjoy this time* and tell your mum, her support will be invaluable and she will be so happy for you*

xxxxx

Hey there, there are many of us out here going through exactly the same. I had a M/C last year and am now in first trimester 5+4 and I am totally freaking out. Its so hard desperately wanting everything to be ok and filled with fear at the same time. I dont think its going to get any easier. We all have to think positively and deal with each day as it happens. I also live in Van and have gone with a midwife but have not been told to take it easy or not to lift probably due to my job. I am a RN and its a really physical job with lots of heavy lifting so I am thinking of telling work but equally dont want to so I can limit heavier tasks i can do, I also give chemotherapy which is a huge safety issue for my baby.
I am sure everything will work out well. Remember everyone seems to be freaking out on a daily basis thank god these forums exist or we would all go insane!

My doc told me two years ago when I had a m/c that miscarriages are NOT a woman's doing -- it could be that something is wrong with the fetus, or your health is compromised, and your body is doing what's best for itself. She also said that it's VERY possible to have a healthy pregnancy after one or even many miscarriages, and never to lose hope.

Surround yourself with support, follow your doc's orders, eat well and hang in there. I wish you a very healthy and sticky bean!
