Hello everyone, im so lost and confused and some help please regarding my due date and when i concieved.

Well here goes, please bear with me. My last period was on the 24th March 2008 and i went for a early scan on the 4th June, they said that i was due on the 10th Jan and when i asked when i concieved they said that i count bk 38 wks from due date , which gives me a conception date of 19th April, well i know for 100% this is wrong as hubby was away from 16th april for week and half. They also said my babys CRL and rempen age was 8 weeks and 5days,now i thought i count bk frm this date to get the day when i concieved but have been told to only count bk 6 weeks as the 2 weeks b4 is when i should have been on my period, but i wasnt it was the 24th march.

Oh its driving me all mad, how far does everyone work out that i am and when would you say i concieved? also on the 4th june my baby measured 22.5mm if this helps.

hmm i wouldn't worry too much. The date they gave me is not right, we didn't concieve on the date they suggest. They do say that they can be a week to 10 days out either way, which is why your classed as full term from 38 weeks to 42 weeks i think. So u perhaps concived just before your husband went away. As for the measurements, well i checked my lo's measurements at scan in books and mags and they weren't right either!

Hey Jen, if you and your partner bedded just before he went away then it could well be around the 19th of april. I know I concieved around the 25th of March as that's the only time that month my OH was here and we were intimate. They put me back 3 days from my due date based on that (making conception around the 28th of march which I know isn't true as he was no longer here), so I'm guessing it can take 3 days for the implanting process to happen? Also my last period was nearly a month before this, so they couldn't go off that at all IMO.

2 things, 1st of all dating scans are not accurate for the first few weeks. I had one at 5 weeks and was told I was only 4, then one at 7 weeks and told that I was bang on 7 weeks!!
Secondly, sperm can last in the body for up to 7 days, so if you and your OH BD before he went away, you may not have concieved until a week later!!
Don't worry about the actual date of coneption hun, just go with 40 weeks from the 1st day of your last period. This is not an exact science, hence why people go "overdue".

The girls are right, people often think 'conceived' means they must have made love that day and it does't. Sperm can live for a few days and fertilise the egg then. I can understand the frustration about your due date, but I wouldn't be too worried about the conception date x
