I'm Currently Feeling: | Diabetes - Hypos? - Upset Hey girls
Well, I'm quite miserable at the moment to be honest, I feel shit, excuse the blatantness but I just feel like sleeping for 100 years. As I posted in my other threads, when I had my 12 week scan they found sugar in my waters and think I'm diabetic. The day after my scan I had a funny turn and went partially blind for about 20 minutes. Well I saw my Doctor yesterday who was considering a mini stroke, or a hypo. A hypo is when there's not enough sugar in the blood. She put it down to a hypo in the end and advised me to eat some carbohydrates first thing every morning before I go out to make sure I've got something to keep my sugars going. Well this morning I got up and had some toast, even though I didn't want to eat, I made myself as I knew I had to for babies sake. Well anyways, at college at about 9:40 I started having another funny turn, couldn't string a sentence together, shaking like mad, got a blinding headache and my eyesight went funny again. In the end my mother had to come pick me up from college. They'd given me a sugary drink of tea, which helped, but now I just feel so shattered I want to sleep forever.
I know I'm ranting about something no-one can really help with, but I'm just feeling so shit today. I'm sorry. I just feel useless, I'm doing what they're telling me to do and it's still not working. Even if I go back to the doctors they'll say the same as they did yesterday about waiting for more tests, it's a 5 week wait in the docs and only another 3 weeks with the hospital, so have to wait for them. Other than that there's not too much they can do. Sorry, just feeling useless emotional and silly =( |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sounds like a scary experience, no wonder you're feeling down! I hope they sort out what's going on and can solve it, and sooner than 3-5 weeks too. I think when someone's losing eyesight and the ability to speak, they really ought to be able to get instant care -- that's serious business. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi hun, you've every right to feel miserable hun. Pregnancy is supposed to be a 'glowing' time after all! Unfortunately I think that only really happens for the minority of women.
I would check with your doctor but I would think something like barley sugar would help when sugar levels are dropping. I don't know though, and as it is medical you should check first xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey,
I'm, now keeping the accu-check sugar monitor with me at all times and I've been advised to keep some biscuits with me, the initial sugar boost will bring me out of the hypo then after that I need some carbs to keep me going. The doc said there's nothing they can really do until I have this next appointment in a few weeks, then will go under the care of the doc at the hospital, hopefully by then they'll be able to sort something for me. I'm feeling quite ill today, so that isn't helping, but makiing myself eat something to keep the hypos at bay!
Thank for the support again girls, don't know where I'd be without it right now xXx |
