I'm Currently Feeling: | There are anti-nausea meds that are okay for most women to take when pregnant (ask your doc though). I've been taking Gravol (dimenhydrinate) and it works well, though it can make you sleepy.
Much of what I've read says that low blood sugar can make nausea worse, so I agree with everyone's advice to 'nibble' and snack frequently. Try to get some protein as well, it'll keep your blood sugar more stable, and keep you full longer. I have to eat protein before I get sick, I can't stomach it once I'm really nauseous.
Things that have helped me when I'm really feeling ill:
- apples/applesauce (something about apples settles my stomach)
- salted soda crackers (I think the salt actually helps)
- bananas
- juices/purees (particularly strawberry-banana with kiwi) in small sips
- mint sugarless gum, brushing my teeth (any mint seems to help)
Things that made the nausea worse:
- ginger (instant vomiting, just the smell is enough to set me off)
- ginger ale
- gelatin (Jell-O)
- pizza
- eating too much of anything at once |

Im sooo ill, i feel so poorly. Its like last week im fine.. then 6 weeks comes and BAM! puke city. I work in sales, face to face sales... how the hell do I work a job like this with people with bad breath, or when people eat... i felt like walking out but i cant do it, my job is target based, without hitting targets I dont earn a fat lot and fear of losing my job for not hitting targets. I just dont know what to do, any miracle remedies? I got some peppermint tea today.
i have tried
Ginger biscuits (cant stomach them)
Lemon water (works a little)
Ginger beer( too fizzy makes me burp and feel ill)
Thankyooux | I know EXACTLY what you're saying. It hit me on monday (bang on week 6) and completely knocked me out on tuesday. Went to work yesterday and was sent home by lunchtime and now I'm sat at home again today. I'm finding that oranges are helping a bit, but I still feel nausious ALL the time |
