I feel like I am the only one

My DH and I decided not to do the triple testing. Is anyone else not doing these testings around the 12th week mark??? I know one person is at least on here. We just figure that ending the pregnancy is not an option, and really are not too worried about it. The one thing I wish I was getting was another scan I am not getting another one until 22w! I can always pay for an extra one...and probably will just to see the LO

Heya hunni

I declined the triple test aswell. Same reason as you - ending my pregnancy was never an option no matter what! I dont regret that decision at all

You aren't the only one - we decided against it too. It was a difficult decision but I think it would only worry me more.

I had my 12 week scan yeesterday and declined the Nucheal Fold screening (have done with all preg) Ending the pregnancy wasnt an option for us either. Your not alone hun xXx The fact that your given a % risk factor would just have me worrying for the rest of the pregnancy too and I for one intend to enjoy it and look forward to meeting our new family member xXx

I'm not sure to test or not, the triple testing what is that for? You see my mum had a spina bifida baby and I have to see some consultant about it and I don't know what to do when it comes to testing. I heard they may cause miscarriage and then what if it shows something. It's just awful and I don't know what to do. I would never want to get rid of the pregnancy, but then I don't know how I'd cope if I lost it after it was born

The testing is for downs, cystic fibrosis and spina bifida. If you get some % back stating that there might be a chance (I think the test is 70% accurate) they do further testing with the amniotic fluid (for the downs) and that can cause m/c. I think that is right, anyone correct please!!!

Thanks ladies!! I feel much better

We decided we are going to have the triple test. Not that we would end the pregnancy if we did find out our chances are high. I know the tests aren't 100% accurate anyway but we just thought it would give us time to prepare ourselves physically and emotionally should our chance be high. We would decline the further amniotic test though should it come to that - there is a risk of miscarriage with that, doesn't seem worth it really - what's going to happen is going to happen. We would just like to prepare ourselves.

I was a little unsure about this but in the end i decided to go for it, only because if there is going to be a problem i would like to be prepared for it

i don't want to because i don't want to be stabbed by needles anymore than i have to but i dont know, haven't had an appointment or any doctor ask me about them yet, gotta ask DH too, we'll see. Whether i choose to or not would probably be decided after i see the needle lol.
