Chemical pregnancy

I couldn't find anywhere to put this so please move if it is in the wrong section. I am around 7 days late for my period and have tested positive on four tests. The lines aren't faint on the results, not as dark as the one box but i don't have to squint to look at it. Also the digital one says pregnant. How possible is it that this is a chemical pregnancy? What I have read when a positive is given and you have a chemical pregnancy your period will be a few days late. Mine is 7 days so am I worrying over nothing? I am really concerned (first time)

I hope not as mine is 8 days late and It never crossed my mind that it could be a chemical one :S I think stressing about it can make it worse babe, and its not good for your little one.
Think positive! (also my first time)

Just found this-

What is a Chemical Pregnancy?

A chemical pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg does not implant into the uterine wall. If a pregnancy test is taken just at the right time it will be positive, however, when a repeat test is taken several days later it will be negative.

So going by that with your period a week late it's really unlikely that it's a chemical pregnancy. Get yourself a drs appointment and get them to do a test, I found it hugely reassuring when the dr told me the test they'd done was positive (even though I'd already done loads of tests myself that had all been definately positive!!!).

As long as there is a definate line it doesn't matter that it's not as dark as the line on the box.

xxx

You are perfectly normal to worry and I dont think there is a single one of us in the 1st trimester that hasnt worried at some point!

I still worry everyday now!

Dont worry about the line not being very dark, I tested for fun when I was 5 weeks pregnant and it was only then that the control line was really dark!!

If you have any concerns ask your doctor to do blood test as these will check the exact amount of HCG in your body!

I use the net too much that's my issue lol. My doc appointment is on Monday, thank God I can book my appointments online, so I could get the first available one. The first test I did this morning was from my second wee and was stronger than the second test then went out got another two and the third one looked a bit stronger than them all. The digi one said pregnant. Thanks for the replies, been looking this up all day and stressing. I was just reading all about it and I didn't know if most of the information was based on ppl testing soon after conception or if it meant they waited until a missed period. Hopefully its based on ppl taking the test very early on.

No, I think you're past the chemical pregnancy stage I think everyone worries about many things throughout pregnancy, and then we start worrying about our kids... the joys of motherhood. Welcome

PS try not googling everything, there is a lot of misinformation out there and it can drive you crazy. I have a bicornuate uterus and got so freaked when I googled it - it said 50% of those pregnancies are lost in the second trimester. I spoke to a friend who's a doctor and she said that's not true. I'm sticking with her story.

The net is so useful but sometimes I wish it didn't exsist b/c we look up stats on things and end up paranoid. I did it with the possibility of me having a phantom pregnancy or a missed miscarriage but all was fine.

I think you're pregnant :P grats!

I had a chemical pregnancy in April , I had 4 positive pregnancy test and a positive blood test , then about a week later I took another test ,a dollar store test and it was neg later that night I started spotting pink , I went to the ER , I should have been a little more then 6 weeks along and they couldnt find anything , They did my hcg levels and they were only 8 , they sent me home saying I was having an early m/c later on I figured out by reading on the net that it was a chemical pregnancy , When I got home from the hospital I started bleeding bright red I had slight cramps and the bleeding only lasted for 2 days . I dont think you are having a chemical pregnancy hun . good luck
