I'm Currently Feeling: | sleeping on your back I've known that it is best not to sleep on your back, particularly after the first trimester, to avoid the baby pressing on the vena cava...So I'm trying to get into the habit of sleeping on my side but I often wake up flat on my back. Has anyone got any tips to stop the back - sleeping. Pillows tend to make me too hot and my OH nicks them too. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I still sleep on my back at times. Especially the last week as I've had a bad sunburn on the sides of my arms. I was told that if you are sleeping and your body gets into an uncomfortable/dangerous position you'll shift yourself automatically. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm trying to get into the habit of sleeping of my left side now but I also wake up and I'm on my back. I've decided that I'll just go to sleep on my left for now and not worry if I'm in a different position if I wake up and go back to sleep again (though I'm not as far on as you x).
Suppose you could always sew a tennis ball on the back of your pj's if you really want to stay on your side (I've seen them do that for people who snore on television!).
I agree with Vickie though - sometimes you just have to trust your body to do what it needs! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Amy sleeps with her back pushed right up against me, so if she stars to turn on to her back in her sleep then its hard to do so without waking either herself or me up. Plus its sweet. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i asked my mw about this at my last appt and she said that as long as you are not FLAT on your back and you have some pillows lying on your back is fine, she has advised me to lie on my left side though as mr tommy is in a rather funny position and it may encourage him to move ...

| I try to sleep on my left side but often I just cant get comfy and got to the right. I start on my back for a while as I like to feel her move for a while before I go to sleep - helps me relax. I have on a couple occasions woke up on my front and that hurts now.
TBH when I had my daughter they never said anything about how you should sleep and she is perfectly fine - I will be sleeping how ever I can get comfortable from now on... | | | | Status: Offline
