I'm Currently Feeling: | I had my NHS dating scan today (after all that it came through ridiculously quickly!) LO was fine and moving around lots - kept kicking away and turning around. We keep referring to Pippin as he, I think I just have a gut feeling about it (like you Elm I've always wanted a girl but now I don't care as long as Pippin is ok). I've been really tired the last few days and been in bed by 7.30 every night - which is why there's been no posts from me, I come home, eat and go to sleep. I can't wait to get that pregnancy glow. It was bin day today and I spent the whole time walking to work being sick in people's hedges from the smell - sorry that might be tmi!
But seeing Pippin wriggling around was well worth it - although am rather worried they've put me under the care of a consultant because they think I might have an incompentant cervix |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Everyone,
Just got back from a long weekend at my mother in laws place so haven't posted for a few days. She took us out for a great dinner and then she and I went shopping for baby things the next day! Yay, it's the first time I have bought anything or the baby, quite exciting. She was clearly excited too as she splashed out on a $200 play mat thingy for us. It's quite silly really, with lights and music and mirrors and toys etc. We had fun. Anyone else done any shopping yet?
Referring back to the question of finding out the sex, we just can't decide what to do. Until recently we were so sure we didn't want to know but we have started to sway a bit and now can't decide. After my shopping trip I am thinking more seriously about it as I can't believe how much of the stuff is gender specific. I wouldn't have a problem with dressing a girl in most of the boys stuff but some of the girls stuff would just be really wrong on a wee boy. We heard a good idea from someone though, they said at the scan we could get the nurse to write it down and put in an envelope for us so we could decide to look later if we wanted to. There is still plenty time to decide I suppose.
Great to hear your scan went well LuLuBee but sorry to hear about your incompetent cervix. Don't stress too much, I've heard it can be taken care of quite easily. |

How are you all? x | I am with you elm, I wouldnt get rid of my baby if it did have Downs, but I think that if there was anything wrong that you would need time to adjust to the idea before baby arrived.
Not sure about the finding out the sex thing, I found out with three of mine and had one surprise, and I must admit it was exciting not knowing, but for practical reasons I think we will find out this time. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh sweetie, I know how you feel. I couldn't look forward ot my first scan because I was so sure they'd tell me I'd imagined it all or that there was a problem - but that is so so rare especially if you have got this far feeling normal. I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing all about it after the scan |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Biscuit,
I haven't really done any shopping yet for LO, got a little teddy when the dr confirmed my pregnancy and I've bought a couple of pains of maternity trousers (they were really cheap on ebay!!!). We really need to sort somewhere we can live with a baby before we buy too much as there's nowhere to put anything!

Thanks for the reassurance xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I know honey - just think of all the positive ones - and also that when your scan goes well on Thursday the chances of you having a miscarriage go down to less than 0.5%. So just keep thinking positively and there are much much more happy stories about scans than sad ones, especially once you get ot this stage |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Can I come too?? After reading this thread it looks like I have the same due date as a lot of you (January 25th, 2009). Can I join and keep up to date with all of you. No one in my group of friends, or family is pregnant so I am finding it incredibly hard to find anyone to relate to. |
