Test results show I caught parvo-virus

I've just had my blood results back from the doctor, they show that I have recently caught parvo virus ( slapped cheek syndrome, fifths disease).

The doctor was very serious with me and warned me that I wont be safe now till I reach 20 weeks and my 20 week scan shows there are no abnormalities and that the baby is still growing as it should be.

I have an early scan on Friday at 8 weeks, so that is my next step.

I feel very sad and worried, any success stories would be most appreciated.

I just found this article http://www.womens-health.co.uk/parvo.asp
Looks like the most dangerous time to be exposed is between 9 to 16 weeks, you're 7 right? So maybe it's fine. And it doesn't seem to cause dissabilities like german measels does, so as long you get to 20 weeks and the baby doesn't have anemia, it should be fine.

aww sweetie try not to worry too much, its not good for you or little bean!!

Hopefully if the worst time to be expoxsed is between 9 and 16 weeks then that takes a weight off of it.

You just concentrate on friday for now!!

Like everyone else I'm not sure either, but at 7 weeks there is no placenta yet and I reckon that might make a difference in terms of what and how things get transmitted to the baby.

I had a virus a couple of weeks ago (don't know what but I doubt something so serious as yours) but no-one cared or thought it would affect my baby.

How awful you have so long to wait and see. I wish you all the luck in the world. Fingers crossed. Try and take care of yourself and take each day as it comes.
