A little tensed

I am 28 yrs old and had two miscarriages. First one in Oct 2007 in the 6th week and then in December. In both cases, no heart beat was found and after my second mc, I underwent D&C.

Now I am expecting again, in the 9th week now. During 5th and 6th weeks I had severe nausea and by 7th it came down. I was worried and I had a sonogram last week at 7 weeks and 5 days and the baby had a heartbeat of 160bpm. The size was 2cm then. My gynec said it looks quite good.

Now for the last couple of days I have a dull pain in my lower back, just above the waist, mostly in my left side. It is not unbearable, but it comes and goes. It usually goes away when I lie down and get a massage from my husband. But I am too worried about it. But for this, I feel OK. I still feel nauseated, but not to bad.

I hope all is well....Does anyone else out there have the same symptoms?

Yeah I've had some low back ache too. I never had back ache as period pain but I do get aches now. I find if I'm sat around a lot I get back ache but lying down helps. I've had some spotting but had a scan at 8 weeks (11 tomorrow) and had right heart beat and right size foetus. I also get allsorts of weird twinges and full feelings all over the show, which I assume is stretching of womb and ligaments.

It's probably the same for you, probably just things stretching out. Still feeling sick is a good sign too. You've had the healthy scan so that's means your MC chances are much reduced. If you've had no bleeding that's also a great sign. Panic not, but your MW will talk it through with you if you call her.

hmm

Massage while you are pregnant is great. I know as its my prof. Just be sure to follow these rules:
1. You must always be on your side. Regardless of what stage in pg you are. Unless ofc you are seeing a prof like myself in which case we will have an adaptation to our couch.
2a. Do not use ANY essential oil for the first 12 weeks.
2b. Do not use fragrance oils, or cold vegetable/nut oils such as sunflower or flaxseed at any time.
2c. After 12 weeks be careful of what oils you use. Remember oils WILL be absorbed by your skin and passed on (in part) through the placenta. Avoid any kind of sage, Amica, Fennel, Jasmine and Juniper.
3. Where possible massage towards your heart.
4. Dont massage the stomach/abdomen area. Its just not worth the risk. Except a light skin massage (very very shallow) once your baby is moving. It can stimulate your child and help him/her to settle when you need to sleep. Once your child is born he/she will love (and have already adapted) a light massage.

The following essential oils are great:
Lavender - pain relief/relaxation/insomnia/depression
Chamomile - anti-inflam/backache/wind/constipation
Frankincense - stress/anxiety/general well being
Bergamot - sadness/depression (do not sunbathe within 24 hours of using this on your skin)
Neroli - very expensive but has been used for thousands of years during labour. Very good quality oil for destressing.

I have recipes specific for labour (mixes) depending on your symptoms. Drop me a line if you want them.

Have fun
