Are spicy foods dangerous? Or old wives tale?

Happy weekend Girls!
I don't know if it's cos the vomitting SEEMS to be easing off or just that I am alllowing myself to relax a bit...but I am REALLY craving spicy, spicy foods. I'm talking BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF spicy...and tonight I'd love to go for a spicy curry...
But is it dangerous in preggerness? Or only towards the end when you're likely to go into labour?

Really want a mad-hot curry!!!!

Hope everyone's well xxx

...spicy food is the only thing I CAN eat as the morning sickness makes everything else inedible. I was like this with my previous two pregnancies; curries, thai food, mexican, you name it......didn't have any bad effects on them...well, apart from the fact that they both love spicy tasting food themselves......Madras anyone?

I have alot of spicey food. It's a myth that if you have a hot curry when you're due then it'll bring on labour. So I wouldn't worry!

Like said, I'd worry about heartburn and gas!

Agreed, I´ve had a hot (and I mean HOT) curry about once a week before and since I got pregnant and the only ill effects I´ve had has been heartburn. But if I drink a glass of milk after the curry and have some Gaviscon to hand it passes.

Old wives tale for sure. What would women in the middle east, India, Pakistan, and Asia do if this were true
