How many do we actually get? My friend just got her scan at 12weeks and she isn't going to be getting another one unless there is a problem, just heartbeat checks. Is this the norm? I always thought you get a scan to date in first tri, early 2nd tri and you get another at 20weeks?

You should get one at 20 weeks. Thats the more importnant one really as it checks for fetal anomolys.

Well that's what I figured! She is 100% sure she doesn't get another one though. She's only 14weeks. I couldn't stand not seeing the baby for 7 months :\ wtf

It depends where you are in the UK i know a number of people that only get the 1 scan at 12 weeks. In chester i get one at 12 weeks and 20 weeks. Any others you need to go private which can varie in price from £65-130 a go. XXX

Where i am we get a 12wk and a 20wk ... however luckily i live a 5 min walk from a private hosp so i can get a smany private scans as i want lol, trouble is at £100 a pop i dont think i'll be having many

I really hope I get 2 b/c I think I'd like to know the sex of the baby :\
