Sprite has no caffiene, it's what I drink and I drink it mainly for the extra calories. I used to only drink water but now I wanna put weight on!

I still have my coffee in the day but have cut it to 1/2 of what it normally was. Quite truthfully, I drank coffee through all my pregnancies and had healthy babies. My daughter was over 7 lbs. and my son was over 8 lbs. and he was delivered at 38 weeks.

At the same time, that is me and it's in no way condoning this for others.

I am definitely not a pop drinker and usually don't even buy the stuff for my home. If I did, my kids would choose that over milk or juice and it's not what I want to happen.

You know I think that's the best idea. When my little one gets old enough to know what soda is it will definately be limited. I find it quite strange that parents let their kids have a glass of pop with every meal. I'd limit it to special occasions especially when they still have little milk teeth.

Caffeine supposedly restricts blood vessels but idk how much truth is in that. I think you'd need to drink A LOT of caffeine for that to affect you.

If you are worried about your teeth use a straw. That's what my dentist told me as using a straw bypasses your teeth, so not so much gets on them.

i've substituted perrier for sodas (which i used to drink at least 1/day).

i've read that sugar in the sodas are also not good...

talking about this makes me crave a nice & cold diet coke!

Before getting pregnant I lived on coca cola and full-caff coffee. I can't drink diet sodas as aspartame gives me terrible migraines and most sodas (diet or not!) contain this. Coke was pretty much the only fizzy drink I could have. Since getting pregnant I have swapped my coffee for de-caff and have stopped fizzy drinks and sodas all together - so no caffeine whatsoever! Of everything, I miss the cola the most - but I'm thinking if I can't do this for baby, what other reason do I have! Once I've finished breastfeeding I'm looking forward to enjoying that big glass of coke!! lol

I've swapped my diet coke with regular sprite b/c I hear the aspartme and caffeine isn't good for baby but I still drink like a litre or more daily.
To me it seems a tad too much, you shouldn't drink more then a glass a day. Try drinking more water, because it will do more for your body and it helps to prevent pre-e. Keeps your body healthier too!
