They really don't do much at all in the first trimester. I didn't see my OB until 13 weeks and even at that point they OB didn't do much at the appt. (mostly paperwork).

You should have a good moan at them when you finally get to see them. You should be getting better care than that. I have to basically argue with mine to get anything done.

I made my own midwife appointment - I have to go doctors to see her tomorrow! I think it looks like I will be doing most of it myself... my dcotor was so not helpful

Well I think I've been seen quite a lot so far considering I'm only 9 and 1 according to me.

I saw the family planning nurse to confirm p/g
Saw the doctor to take a brief family his who arranged midwife to see me
Saw midwife who had a general chat with me n gave me all my notes,
Saw midwife again yesterday, this time at home, who took all my history and bloods so I can pick up my results at my scan which is on 6th June. I've already got my next appointment with my midwife booked too.

All that and I'm only 9+1 s it does seem strange to me that it's different for you. Either way though, least you have your appointment now xxxxxxxx

My OBGYN is awesome... I dont mind at all that I had to wait until 13weeks... I am actually really lucky I got her too because she is known to be very busy...

The reason most wait until 13weeks here is because in the first tri, there isn't much they can do, and miscarriages are most common at this time. And they arnt really preventable, usually it means the baby did not develope or there was some other problem. Thats also why they dont give hospital referals here until 2nd tri too.

Now that im seeing my OBGYN she is looking after me VERY well... I get my 3rd scan next Friday for sexing and another one not even 2 weeks after that.

I cant wait to see my baby, I love going in and seeing him on the screen, so does my SO.
