Dr. Appointment + Uterine Measurements

I'm going to my doctor again tomorrow. As you may have seen if you saw my bump pictures, I look like I'm much further along than 10 weeks. I personally feel like I'm showing way too quickly and think something is off there, be it that I'm further along or there is more than one (lets all just pray for one baby please). My doctor is a real stickler and I doubt it very much if she's going to give me an extra ultrasound because I had my period. I was just wondering if she would be able to see how many weeks my uterus is measuring at, and how she would go about doing this??

Also, is it absolutely necessary that I have a pap smear done if I've already had one this year and its come back clear? I've had 4 in my life and there has never been any abnormal cells and I'm STD free My doctor wants to do one but if it isn't completely necessary I think I'm going to opt out of it. I made it to 10 weeks without spotting, I'd like to keep it that way.

If she measures your uterus at this appointment (which she should), I'm almost positive she should be able to tell if you're much farther along based on size -- i.e., if your uterus is far past your pubic bone, there's either multiples, or you're farther than measured.

I really don't think they should do the smear if like you said before it can cause spotting? It'd just make you worry??

I had a really big belly in one of my previous pregnancies, and although it sounds gross, it was just because I was a bit, well, blocked digestively speaking and bloated. Could that be part of the reason?

In anycase, I will be keeping fingers crossed for you that everything is perfect!

I am a bit "blocked digestively" but even when I do manage to get "unblocked" its still the same. And I do bloat some but I can tell the difference between when I am bloated and when I'm not. I'm just huge. lol

Just wanted to add some comments about the smear test.
In the UK they don't do smear tests whilst you are pregnant. However they only do them every three years here if the results are normal. If you only recently had one and it was normal then you should be ok not having it until after the baby is born.

She willjust feel around and be able to tell how far gone you are. My consultant did with me 2 weeks ago, She felt that I was 15 weeks but I look tiny still so I dno. They know what they're looking for though.
i havent had to have a pap smear and I've never had one. I know I'm clear though. Me and partner were both virgins and I trust him 100% :P

I don't know that they've ever measured my uterus? As for the papsmear I would think you could opt out of it since you had a clear one within the past year
