Any tips for how to get through work?

I teach classes to little kids, sometimes several back to back and it is getting harder and harder to deal with the morning sickness and constant need to wee.
I've been wearing my travel sickness wrist bands, sipping 7up, and sucking on starburst but I am also trying not to let on to ANYONE at work that I am pregnant. However I think they might be guessing as today, someone mentioned 'oh you're wearing sick bands!' (to which I lamely replied that I have a stomach upset) , someone else asked me if I had seen Juno ( maybe I am just paranoid) and someone else said something odd about seeing her sisters scan pictures and then went on to add 'who would want kids?' grrrr

Anyway, the hardest part is, I am worried I am going to have one of those sudden vomits during a class. I will be in trouble if that happens as the classes of kids are all from visiting schools with their teachers and parents. And to make it worse some of the classrooms really smell bad. Of crayons, wee and general toddler induced stinkiness. HELP

Maybe you should tell people at your work sooner than later...that way they can understand what you are going through and with your bouts of breaks to the restroom and eating. They will know soon enough, right?? It depends on how comfortable you are telling them I suppose. I don't think there is anything you really can do as far as sensitivity to smells and weeing...Try to eat more in the mornings when you feel sick, like some oatmeal or cereal so that it helps your stomach settle more. That shouldn't seem too weird.

Avoid it!! ahahahah lol

Seriously though, erm I really don't know. Maybe telling people is the best option? are you not telling them for a reason?

If it really stinks you can always dab a bit of Vick's Vaporub underneath your nose to mask the smell... unless you hate the smell of Vick's (it can be strong), in which case I would recommend sucking on lemon drops or any kind of strong lemon candy.

What's more, if you're willing to pay extra, you can go for those Preggie Pops they sell (online or in a few stores). I haven't tried them, but I hear they work really well...

Well I managed another day - and in one of the stuffiest smelliest rooms too. Thank goodness for sour flavour starburst is all I can say!

I really don't want to tell anyone yet because for one thing, it is a relatively new job and I don't know them all that well yet, they don't really know me etc. But the main reason is that I have had losses in the past. So if I were to tell them I would want them to know this as I really couldn't cope with all the normal pregnancy chit chat and comments like 'is this your first' etc...

My plan is, if all is well by the end of the first trimester, I will tell my boss, tell her the situation and how it is a bit sensitive for me and then I feel pretty confident that she will be supportive and understanding.

It was tough going today though. I'm glad it is only part time!

Awwwwwwww sweetie, I'm sorry to hear that. *big big big huggles* the only real thing I've found to help with my MS is Rich tea biscuits. Dry and bland I know, but it helps?
