Has any one else given up but still surrounded by smokers?

I used to smoke between 20 and 30 a day before I fell pregnant. my husband still smokes but always goes out and tries to be considerate, but no matter how considerate he is he still stinks!! The smell of him makes me feel physically sick.

My colleagues at work all smoke too. They obviously have to go outside for cigarettes too but again they stink and all i can smell at work is cigarettes!! I actually end up having half a cigarette to stop myself feeling so ill becuase once i have had one I can no longer smell it. Because of this I am having about 2 cigarettes (well actually i only smoke 1/2 of one and through the last 1/2 away) a day, but i wont to stop.

I am also finding i am really resenting my husband because he is still smoking and drinking and I'm not!!!

Has any one else experience this and how did you deal with it? It is getting to the point that i cant even hug hubby because even if he is 'clean' i can still smell the cigarettes.....he is sure it is all in my head!!

yeah i made my oh give up smoking cause kissing him made me feel sick. i just told him i didnt want him near me cause he stunk! lol

When I was with my OH at the time and I quit smoking but he didn't, I refused to be around him if he wanted to smoke, and if he smoked I told him not to have any contact with me until it wore off. I'm with you on the drinking/smoking thing too, we never did last though so I feel much better now!

I only used to smoke socially so I don't miss it, but my OH smokes & he refuses to give up. The smell makes me feel so sick. I ask him to quit smoking for our babies' sake & he just says "but I don't want to quit" men can be so goddamn stubborn

Working in a garage its like smokers heaven ... just goes with the territory.

But because of smoking laws they all have to go outside anyway so it doesnt really bother me luckily

My OH was a social smoker and I was a full blown smoker. WE both quit when i found out I was preggers. To be honest the smell stopped bothering me so much in the last couple of weeks. Before that it was enough to make me sick.

Try explaining to your OH that its not about his health or the money anymore but about wanting to be active and healthy for his child and being around as long as possible! If that doesnt work you will just have to accept he will smoke as long as he wants to and try not to smoke yourself.

My oh is a smoker but he is trying to quit and hes SO grumpy ! Im trying to be as supportive as possible because i know how much he wants to quit for the babys sake !

I started smoking quite heavily after my miscarriage last year. But then i had an asthma attack and had to give up. I haven't smoked for over a year now and it doesn't really bother me. My OH smokes but he always sits near an open window or with his head practically up the chimney!! I'm totally fine with that and he said when bubba arrives he'll smoke outside and when bubba is in bed he'll have a few cheeky ones in the living room.
There's no way i'd expect him to give up completely but your OH should really have a bit of consideration for yours and bubbas health, especially if its making you feel sick!!

i find bursting into tears everytime he lights up gets the message across, made both him and his brother cry the other day coz they felt so guilty about upseting me, lol. i cant help it, its my hormones lol.
