appointment confusion??

im totally confused at what i need to do!

when i first found out i was pg i went to my docters and he said he would write the letter to the hospital and that i would need to register at a new docs because of midwife's id need one closer to where i lived (i recently moved house). He didnt say anything about needing to book an appointment with the new docs or with a midwife or anything so i just assumed that him saying he would write the letter to the hospital meant that i would hear something back from someone about having a scan or even blood tests to confirm it or something! but it has now been about 3 weeks and im now about 8-9 weeks pg and i havent heard anything. im now thinking i should have made the appointment with my new docs myself? what did everyone else have to do??

Im a bit upset now because im waiting to tell people once iv had a scan so i know everything is ok but now i think im just going to have to wait ages

dang girl sorry to hear that

Is there any free pregnancy clinics around you..That's what I did 1st because they got me in faster..Like a BirthRight,Planned Parenthood or etc....Try to call the doc your self again..Good luck and sorry couldn't help more...

Your local hospital ay have an EPU that you can phone to make an appoitment. Usually your first scan is at around 12-13 weeks mine is at 13 and 2 days, They only usually do an early scan if there has been something abnormal (i.e. bleeding) previous pregnancy problems or if you have no idea when you got preg. If you are concerned phone your hospital I got my appoint through in my 9th week of pregnancy nearly my 10th if i remember correctly. If I was you I would phone your new doc and just ask if an apointment has been made for you if not I would arrange one.

When i moved house last year i needed to register with the local doctors before i could see anyone there so maybe you need to contact then yourselves. It wont hurt to give them a call anyway and just explain the situation and then they can advise. xx

My only advice is to try and call either the old or new (or both) doctors offices until you get an answer....and an appointment
