I know cramps are normal in early pregnancy, but I just wanted to check if this sounds ok. I've been getting cramps on my left side (same side I ovulated on this month), quite high up - just below my rib. It happened about 3 times over the weekend and all three times I had pain in my shoulder at the same time. I was thinking maybe gas, but would gas cause pain in my shoulder? I know that's a symptom of ectopic, but the pain isn't there all the time. And I've tried pressing on my stomache, there aren't any tender spots. Surely if it was ectopic it would hurt when I pressed on it? Anyone else had this?

I would call a doctor and get it checked.

Never heard of the shoulder pain thing, agree with the others, better to get it checked out so you aren't worry about it

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm going to get OH to call NHS direct when he gets home to find out if I should see a doctor. I'm just on an extended holiday to the UK, so don't have a GP or midwife and my travel insurance doesn't cover pregnancy before the 12th week. It's soooo expensive to go private - 75 pounds just for a consult no tests included
