I'm planning a water birth at home. I had a 3rd degree tear last time & I heard there's less chance of it happening again if I give birth in water & choose a more suitable position, like on all fours.. I hate the way you're forced to lie on your back with your legs up in stirrups in most hospitals, it's not the best position to give birth in at all. I want to go all natural.. I had pethidine last time but I want to experience a drug-free birth this time.

IT makes no sense to deliver that way...hello! Gravity!

Rasberry leaf tea, perieal massage, water birth all aid delivery with no tears or episiotomy. Also not haveing an epi can assist in not tearing apparentlybut I think thats just because you can feel when to push so you wont be going against your body. I really dont think there is a 'right' way to give birth nor am I trying to say that natural is the only way but im really glad i have made this decision.

My OH is a clean freak so I think he is glad that we can control how clean the house is rather than having to go to hospital. He was really supportive actually which suprised me, I thought he would be more anxious about the what if's but so far so good.

Ideally I would like to have a home birth with a birthing pool, because hospitals completely freak me out and I just know that during labour i'd be the same if not worse.

hi girls did you miss me?!! im really poorly been asleep

i will be having a home birth although i think ill get advised against it because of my history, but on the other side of the fence i argue that hospital holds traumatic memorys for me so a home birth will be less stressful.

ill be avoiding pain relief like the plague, you have and injection for pain , the pain meds make you sick, another set of meds for sickness....where does it end??
epis scare me not being able to walk around is weird.
gas and air made me sick also so ill be grinning and bearing it.
homeopathic is the way forward

lets face it its painfull, its the most painful thing ive ever been through but the pain dont last forever and look what you get at the end of it?! dont you want your heads to be clear to enjoy it properly?

for all those worried about mess, the midwifes deal with it all. and afterwards its just you and your baby you call the shots as to whos with you, you get in your own bed after no having to rush out cramming an hours old baby into a car seat. your own bath with your own things.

im looking forward to it. i have a load of home birth info if anyone want a chin wag pm me. xx

I want to be in hospital, but a friend is a midwife (a friends mum) who said that its the first time she'd cried in years it was so magical so i'm kinda swaying for that idea cos you can obv get out and get the drugs etc if you want them then, tho cos my hospital doesnt have one i have to hire one grrr...
