Dont upset yourself by looking it up on websites, as some normal symptoms, will also be listed as m/c symtpoms and will only serve to wind you up. If you can wait till the scan tomorrow, just relax and look after you. If not, I would ring your doctor to put your mind at rest hun, just for some advice

ooooh, fingers crossed for you. Its so hard to tell whether its completely harmless or its a bad sign. Women have brown discharge in both scenarios. When I had a m/c it did start with brown and then moved into clots/blood over a number of days/week. Equally some women do have light bleeding and everything is perfectly okay. They'll be able to tell you tomorrow hopefully - are they giving you an internal scan? Really really hope everything is okay for you, lots of luck and xxx

Hi

MY doc is shut today with it being bank holiday.
i am really stressing and my hubby doesnt know what to say to me i feel like i have convinced myself its bad and convinced myself i havent got any symptoms anymore and now i cant decide whether my boobs are hurting or whether me poking them is making them sore LOL.
Why does it have to be so scary?
I dont know whether its just me being over dramatic or whether its just being pregnant that makes you worry but i hate feeling like this

Thanks for ready

Lou

lolly,
I too have freaked out about brownish discharge. I had it last time when I had a miscarriage and also I've had it this time. IT IS NORMAL. I've honestly come across more cases of women having brownish and pinkish discharge and gone on to have perfectly healthy babies, than not.

Miscarriage signs are scarey, there is nothing that can deny that. However, after all my scares and panics I have discovered that there is no set pattern and there is NO INDICATION based on symptoms or even heavy bleeding that necessarily means a miscarriage. Some women have textbook perfect pregnancies, and all the normal pregnancy symptoms and still end up going to a scan and discovering there is no heartbeat. Not that I want to scare you - what I want for you to feel is peaceful, hopeful and positive.

It is a good idea to get any 'unusual' discharge or spotting checked out by your midwife or doctor, to be on the safe side and for your own reassurance BUT I've heard of women who have passed heavy huge clots of blood and still gone on to full term and delivered healthy babies.

The sad fact about miscarriages in the first trimester is that they are common, and there is nothing that can be done to stop them or indeed to cause them - it is just down to nature. But, brown spotting is normal. My doctor told me it is very common, very normal and they are not worried about it unless there is also a LOT of pain.

I hope nothing I have written alarms or upsets you, or anyone else reading.
Since I have had some losses, I really do understand the fear and worry and I struggle with it daily. But I have also come to find that the greatest peace in this scary scary time has come from being quite matter of fact (realistic) and accepting of things.

And that very much includes holding on to hope and trusting our bodies.

Big HUgS
