Doppler question again

Ok, just for the record im not panicking or stressing but...

has anyone ever heard the placenta and their own heartbeat but not the baby's? Its still early to be using it I know but we had a go this morning and definately got the placenta but couldnt get the baby...? Maybe the placenta was in the way?

I didn't hear anything on mine until I was like 11 weeks. And even then it took some time, you have to be patient and move it around a bunch. I have the HiBebe doppler which seems to work really well. Good luck!!

When I was first trying the doppler, those are the only sounds I would pick up, too. When I finally did manage to find the heartbeat, I realized that it was usually right around where the placenta was, and because that thing is SO NOISY it can drown out the sound of the heartbeat early on. As the baby's been growing I've been able to find it much easier, and it's much louder, but that's not usually the case so early on (heard mine first at 8 weeks, so anything's possible).

Just keep trying, you'll get it eventually!

All I ever hear is the placenta & my heartbeat. I've given up trying for a couple of weeks.

Placenta and what I now think is my heartbeat..

I've heard how fast a foetus's heartbeat is ment to be and I'm convinced I'm just finding mine.

I'm encouraged if Maybebaby's experience at 11 weeks.

Will keep trying and will try close to the placenta.

Scan not for two more weeks, so would be good to have some reassurance beforehand.

At 9 weeks I'd imagine it would still be very tricky to hear the heart beat every time. Try not to worry. LO is probably just so small still that he/she can easily hide from it. I often get the placenta or my own heart beat.

Just be patient - try every few days and it will be there. Sometimes even now it is hard to find as my LO likes to constantly move around in there! :Hugs:

I couldn't find it first just kept finding the placenta, When you have found the placenta angle it down abit and move very slowly you might hear it. It could just be too early yet.
