HELP - Dark Brown Blood Loss - 6wks!!

Please help!!

I'm between 4 and 6 weeks pregnant (I have 6 week cycles so hard to pin point date until scan) although I have woken up this morning with dark brown blood not loads but enough to worry - maybe like a tspn amount.

Has anyone else had this? Should I be worried?

Had a m/c last dec but can't really remember if it started with brown or red blood then......

Also i have not had any sickness yet through out the pregnancy, boobs a little tender but no too bad, lower back pain yesterday and slight ache yesterday in my stomach (but seems to have gone now)......

Thank you so much in advance xxx

hi hun, could be many things so try not to worry, however ring your docs or midwife if you have one and talk to them they will give you the best advise and help you...

good luck

Brown blood is old blood so there shouldn't really be anything to worry about.
But then again, i've heard from other ladies on this forum that thats how their loss started. I dont want to panic you or anything. Maybe you should go to your doctors to put your mind at rest and hopefully you'll be able to get an early scan.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. xxxx

I had this last week when i was 6 weeks. Panicked me too. I called NHS Direct and spoke to a nurse there, She said that as long as there wasn't enough to soak a pad, it turned pink or red or was accompanied by abdominal pain then i shouldn't worry. Aparantly it is quite normal. The nurse thought it could be left over from implantation.
If you are worried call your doctor to put your mind at rest, but everything should be fine.

Hi lauraperrysan,

If I were you I would call your Gyni straight away and tell him what's happening. I don't want to scare you but I had a miscarriage in January and it started off with brown spotting, only the tiniest amount. Lower backache can also be a sign of an impending mis so don't take any chances and ring your Gyni. Good luck.

Hi, just spoken to my gp who has booked me in at the early pregnancy clinic tomorrow for a scan....might not be able to see much or have my mind put at rest as only between 4 - 6 weeks.
Although at least they are doing all they can.
Will let you know how it goes, thanks so much for all your support.
