Hi...I'm expecting my 5th child on Nov 7. This will be a C Section as I have had 2 previous normal deliveries then followed by 2 c/s due to medical reasons.

I have a question about a triple test. In my last pregnancy I was High Risk for Spina Bifida..1 in 118...in this pregnancy the test hasn't been offered because of the new Nuchal Scan thingy, and I can't stop worrying because I won't find out til my 20 week scan.

Does anyone know if you have a High Risk test in one pregnancy, does that mean you could have a high risk again in the next?

I'm 35...4 children, 5 miscarriages

I'm sorry I'm not really sure either. Can you get in for an earlier scan, I'd assume with your history they'd want to at least do a scan at around 12 weeks. Good luck, hopefully someone else can give you more help than me

Hi hun sorry I don't know about this either. Have you asked if you could get the other test done privately at all, I don't know if it's an option but it's always worth asking.

I'm expecting my 5th too and had 3 miscarriages so can understand a little of what you're going through.

I hope you get the advice you need.

I thought the test came as standard?

This was my first and they offered it me.. might be worth speaking to your midwife about it.

Hi Ladies, thanks for your replies.

I've had the Nuchal Scan...results should be here for Fri. But when I spoke to the midwife she said that the Triple Test isn't offered if you have the Nuchal Scan done. So I'm making an appointment with my doctor to see what he says.

I've also got some advise about getting the test done privately...spoke to one lady and she says she can do a 4d scan at 17 weeks that can totally rule it out...which would only be a week after the Triple test...so if I can no joy from the doctor, I think thats the route I'm gonna take.
