Consultant led care...

Hope somebody can help me out here, i tried to google what i
was looking for but tbh cant be bummed reading that much when i
can ask you girlies
I was reading through a few other posts & somewhere down the line i have
got myself confused This is my 4th pregnancy & i'm consultant led cos of my high blood pressure & i get gest diabetes.
Anyway...my question is does that mean HE delivers baby or HAS to be there I just picked this up from other posts, but i'm not sure if am right or not. Basically this might be old fashioned but i DONT want a man delivering baby, i find it hard enough you have to go through this with 2 midwifes watching never mind a man too
Hope somebody can shed some light on this...

i dont think its necessarily him that will deliver, just A consultant.
plus i think midwifes still deliver, its just the consultant that monitors you etc.
but you have the right to say that you dont want a man to deliver.

Hi, I was consultant led in my second pregnancy and he didn't deliver my baby, he wasn't even there at all. He came to visit me and my daughter the following day on the ward and he saw me every two weeks towards the end of my pregnancy but it was two midwifes who delivered me and that was it so don't worry. I am also on my fourth pregnancy and have been told that I will be going under the same consultant again due to problems in previous pregnancies xx

Thats a relief, thank you!
I dont wanna come over as a complete pain in the butt to them
But i'd defo refuse to have a man deliver my baby, wether it was MY
consultant or another, i demand a midwife

I am going to be under a consultant this time but I think that is because I am 38 (will be 39 when I deliver). I did also wonder if they would be delivering the baby or not so thank you for clearing that up Serenity, although it wouldn't have bothered me if he had.

What did bother me during my last delivery was that I had two really good looking young doctors in airforce uniforms delivering my baby (was a RAF hospital) and there I was legs a kimbo, not the way I usually like to be introduced to good looking men

lol. a while ago the thought of a man deliverying my baby would have made me cringe, but now in the past few months, i've had male and female midwifes looking up my foo foo, i have lost my dignity, and really dont care now lmao.

Well my dignity is still in tact
And i've no intention of letting any man look at my foofoo
Unless it's my own of course

I am like you, it doesn't bother me either (unless they are really good looking men in uniform ).

I think once you become pregnant your foo foo is not your own anyway

i think the consultant will only deliver your baby if it is by planned c-section.

tbh i think once the time comes i could care less whether it was a man or woman as long as they knew exactly what they were doing.

xxx
