Okay, so this afternoon I went in for my first ultrasound. Despite all the unpleasant opening, prying, and pushing that generally went on around my nethers, everything went super well. The doc measured the baby at 10 weeks and 1 day, so my OPKs were pretty much right on the money. The baby did its little rumba thing, flailing its arms around and repositioning itself which was SO CUTE, especially considering that it looked a little like a peanut with limbs (and a giant head). The baby turned to face us and she did a closeup on its face, and you could see the little features (see below pic -- at least I can see the features, I think).
Baby's face
Baby's back
Baby's body
The heartbeat measured at 162, and she said that the baby looked great. My next ultrasound is for the 20th week, and I can't wait for that one, too! But I couldn't have asked for a better ultrasound. It's kind of crazy to think that little wiggly thing is actually inside of me right now. Ahh, it looked a lot more human than I thought it would; seeing it made me feel all mushy inside.
