Paranoid about a missed miscarriage

I am so worried that when i go for my scan in 3 weeks that they will tell me i have had a missed miscarriage. It is my worst nightmare. I had a scan at 6 weeks and the baby was measuring ok and had a heartbeat but then you read stories of ladies who had early scans yet still had a missed miscarriage.

Awww, I'm sure it must be completely normal to feel like that hun. I know that every time I go to the toilet I'm scared to check my knickers and see blood. But try and keep positive and really enjoy being pregnant instead of worried

I had a MMC but they are rare hun, I think only about 5% of all miscarriages end this way, just stay positive and im sure everything will be just fine xxxx

I think everyone worries about this hun. I did, and still do, two normal scans later. MMC are very rare, but they do still happen IYKWIM. I can assure you that if you have seen a viable baby with a heartbeat you have a very very very good chance of going through your pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby x

I also had a scan at 6 wks and saw a heartbeat but was utterly convinced that I'd get to my 12 wk scan and find I'd had a MMC too. I think most ladies have this worry and its normal to be worried and anxious about the scan. My scan on Wednesday went really well, its was lovely to see our little baby on the screen I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine

Its entirely normal to be thinking how you are. I have friends who have had them (who now have lovely healthy babies) so I was literally assuming it was going to happen to me. Absolutely dreading my scan yesterday (and it's very painful being nervous with such a full bladder!) but all my worrying was in vain and I got to see the wriggliest , loveliest baby ever!! I'm sure it will all go brilliantly for you. xx

I was just about to post a thread about the same thing. I've got my scan on monday. I'm so excited to finally see our baby but im so scared as well. I've got this awful image in my head of the sonagrapher (however its spelt lol) saying "sorry your baby has died" i know its a horrible thing to even consider but i cant help it. I've waited for the scan for so long now & im so excited but im SO nervous also. Because i haven't really had any obvious symtomps i've often wondered if there's a baby growing in there at all which i think hightens my fear even more! For the ladies who unfortunately have had a MMC, did you not experience any signs at all until it was confirmed by the scan?

It's my absolute fear of the day too, can't stop fretting about it. I just have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever and it is making me paranoid. Is that a bad sign? I'm only 5+4 and I keep thinking there's people at this point who only just find out they are pregnant so it must be normal enough.

Really not happy with the idea of waiting another 6-7 weeks for a scan but I guess that is the way it is. Dreading there being no heartbeat too and the thought of waiting that long and dealing with that and even thinking of starting this all over again is horrific.

Apparently there is only a 1% - i've read it in several places now - risk of a missed miscarriage.

I hope I am just being paranoid. And I can understand why they don't generally scan early as it does seem almost everyone has this paranoia! Which is actually reassuring.

Is there any way to check? If you have a MMC will a pg test still show as positive? For how long? A weekly POAS may be neccessary for reassurance if so!

I had no symptoms until pretty much 6 weeks bang on. Have spent every day since then feeling as sick as a dog and incapable of being awake past 9pm.

I'm afraid there's no point doing anymore pee-sticks. A couple of years ago I had a suspectic ectopic so had to go for blood tests each week until all the hormones were out of my system. It took over a month so I would have shown as pregnant on a pee stick for a while after bean had died.

It's really hard just waiting but you have to keep in mind that MMC's, whilst entirely possible, are unbelievably rare and it's much more likely that everything's going to go well for you!
