6 week scan and no heart beat! updated

has this happened to anyone else? doc said its quite normal to not see a heart beat at this stage.i would just like to know if anyone else has had this, but saw strong heart beat in the next scan. ive to go back in 10 days time.

I haven't personally been in that situation, but I know it's not terribly unusual. Even if your dates are a tiny bit off, that can make all the difference at this stage. I really hope everything works out for you and that you see a beautiful heartbeat in 10 days. Please let us know how your next scan goes

Not had experience myself either, but I've heard that the HB isn't picked up sometimes until 7 wks so try not to worry

my epu wont scan until 8 weeks for a few reasons.
one is that in alot of cases a heartbeat wont be visable until around then.
and dates can be off slightly aswell.

I had an emergency scan at 5+3 I think it was and no heartbeat. Went back a week later and there was a lovely HB blinking away on the screen!
That HB is now nearly 10 years old!

hi yes its happened to me , i had a scan at 6 weeks my sac measured 12mm no fetal pole or yolk sac , ive read yolk should of appeared by 5 weeks , i was asked to go back 2 weeks when they found baby, heartbeat , yolk sac i measured 8 weeks so the dates were right ,dont worry i made myself ill for those 2 weeks looking up on internet and alot of ladies saw heartbeat etc , at 6 weeks i had an empty sac ! im 11 weeks now x

its just so frightening! i dont know how im going to get through these 10 days! im so worried!

i can imagine how it'd b like, but i fink 6wks is early to find a heartbeat. gud luck for u in 10days time x x

Makeithappen, i'm in the exact position as yourself and the waiting is sheer hell huh? I've read so many stories regarding it and its made me ill so i've stopped doing and resigned myself to what will be will be, horrible i know but otherwise i would go insane. Laura i would like to thank you for your post it has given me such a boost and hope
