Copying scan pics

I've tried scanning and photocopying my scan pics at work, but they come out all black and rubbish.

What am I doing wrong? How do you get a good copy of a scan pic?

Even when we take pics with our camera set on close up, they still come out funny or with the light shining on them.

I'm thinking of going to one of those copier places to see if they can do them for me...

We have one of those photocopier scanners combined at work and the scanner didn't do a job any better than the copier.
