I went for a scan last night...

Morning ladies!
You might know that I posted yesterday about some brown spotting I was having, after having stomach pains on Monday night.
Well, first of all, I called NHS Direct; they told me to ring my m/w. So, I spoke to my m/w (who is lovely, btw!) and she said that everything was probably fine, but that I could ring the hospital just in case...
I rang the hospital, and was told that "bleeding in pregnancy is not normal, but not to worry unduly..!" Yeah, right! Easier said than done. The m/w at the hospital said to call back today at 8:30am, and speak to someone in EPU.
I was freaking out by this point. I've not had a lot of symptoms since my bfp, and one of my friends went for her first scan a while back, only to find that her baby had died This is something that has worried me, ever since it happened to my friend.
So, I called a private scan company - and they managed to fit me in last night, and...
Everything is absolutely fine! It was the best experience ever, and the best £100 I've ever spent (well, that I've ever taken out of my overdraft!)
We saw and heard baby's hb, and we saw him/her jump and move around. It was just amazing
And... the sonographer moved me on a few days, so I'm now 11 + 1.
I've never been so happy in my life!
Just wanted to share, and hopefully give some reassurance to ladies who've had spotting/no symptoms.
xxx

I'm a firm believer in private scans if you can afford them. We had one done at 10+ wks to check on bub and it was the best money i have ever spent. Whwn you're worried nothing can put your mind at rest other than seeing your baby happy and healthy on screen! xxx
