How is this possible

I had an early app due to brown spotting, so I got an scan last week. They say i'm only 4 weeks but my lmp was Jan.2. That would have put me at least 8 weeks. Could it been wrong if my bladder was full.

Hi hun,

So sorry your going through this. In December last year I also had an early scan due to spotting, when I went in they measured me at 4 weeks when I calculated 8.5 weeks based on LMP. They told me I might have ovulated a lot later than I thought and that the pregnancy could be progressing normally, just much early than calculated. They sceduled another scan for me a week later so they could see if it was still growing, unfortunately during that week my bleeding got heavier and red/clotty, when I went back for the followup scan as I had expected I had had a natural miscarriage, the baby had stopped developing at 4 weeks old which is why it was still showing like that on the scan.

I do hope this is not the case for you, and that you did infact just ovulate late.

You could have just ovulated late. Although I would get checked in a couple of weeks to make sure there is a heart beating. Good luck.

A full bladder ensures more accuracy than an empty one.

Sorry Hun I can't offer any advice, I've been put back a week which means I ovulated whilst I was having my LMP which is bizarre! The only thing I can think is that my baby is just small for their age iykwim!

I was thinking that the baby had stop growing at 4 weeks also, but I'm keeping my faith. I still feel like I'm pregnant. Don't won't to stress to much about it. I had the vaginal scan and she ask me to empty my bladder, but I couln't so that's why I ask about a full bladder. Louise I'm so sorry for your lost last year. Thanks for the replies!!
