I'm Currently Feeling: | Heartbeats via doppler I ordered a doppler from ebay (only £19 with postage) and it said it might work from 10 weeks, so I figuered it might be a few weeks till I heard anything.
Anyway I had a go with it, and found a beat really quickly. Now I'm paranoid it might be my own, lol. I have no idea what it is supposed to sound like. Can you guys do me a favour and give it a listen?
Also I can locate an other of these noises on the other side - which makes me worry that I may be picking up my own pulse from my veins or something.
Oh and sorry it's a rubbish recording the computer wire didn't work so I recorded it through the headphones onto my mobile then onto my phone. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My computer wont let me access it but the best way to tell if it's you or baby is to have your fingers on your pulse while you listen to baby. If it's at a different rate then you know you've found your LO.
Babies also have a much faster heart rate than us. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I cant get it either but as anita said your wont be as fast as baby's. You can also pick up the placenta - a whooshing sound.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yeap, have heard definately swoshing. Yeay!!
Swoshing more on the right side the left side is less swoshy.
Slightly worried that the fact I can hear a similar sound on the other side might mean my OH's original prediction of twins might be true, but that might be the placenta, guess we'll have to wait till the scan.
I will try to change the format to wav or something more computer friendly. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's definitely possible to pick it up early! The others are right, though, the baby's heartbeat is twice as fast as your own (or thereabouts), so if you just have one finger on your pulse while you listen, you'll be able to distinguish. I still do this everytime, but the pulse is generally around 160, and usually found around the swooshy placenta noises (those are freaking loud sometimes!). |
