4d Scans

Anyone thinking of having one? I said to dh about it last night and he said we could have one, that was until i looked at the prices. It was just as expensive when we had dd so we didnt get one done but i would love one this time. Any advice ladies?

Were going to have it, my BF had one and the images were just amazing. Although we want bubbas sex to be a surprise so were not finding out, just hope that's possible at 4d scans and we don't see a glipse of what it could be, I need to look into that some more. I think if you stretch to it you must try, the pics are fantastic! X

Where do you live? my local hospital does a 4d baby bonding scan for £65,(20 mins) and my dh thought it was expensive!!(cheap skate!!) He said he would rather have a nice photo of the baby taken when its born, i was going to take him as a fathers day surprise but he has kind of snuffed that idea for me, so i may just go anyway!! Take my mil who would go bonkers to see baby!

They do them in the evening and you don't have to be having your care there, so perhaps if you are not too far away from Somerset it is worth a little drive?
Let me know if you want any more info and i will give you the phone number!

If we have the money then I think we will get one. We had one done when I was pg with DS2 and it was amazing

They are really expensive here (Northern Ireland), ours was over £200. But it was worth it!!

It's your decision really. We booked one when we moved abroad, because here they charge £70. But we had it booked at 31 weeks, and the guy was sick, so it was rescheuled for 32 weeks. We had the scan, but the equipment was faulty so we never got the images or video to take away. We've been rescheduled for Thursday (33 weeks), and I just hope that the baby will still be visible. They say the ideal time to have a 4D scan is between 26 and 31 weeks. They say you shouldn't bother after about 31 weeks because the baby then gets too big to see on the screen. It's not like they can zoom out

And our baby's measuring ahead of dates too

I was told by my daughters childminder the other day that the images are so advanced now that if you had a 4d scan done and then a picture taken just after they were born, it looks the same. Obviously it is the same baby but how nice would that be!!
Here in Norfolk there isn't that many places that do the scans so would have to travel to Peterborough or Cambridge. Prices i have sen vary from £75 for 5-10 mins up to £300+.
A fathers day pressie would be a great idea though!! xxxx
