Loss of appetite?

Hello everyone, I'm new here but have something that's bothering me so wanted some advice.

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my first. I've had all the usual symptoms.. tiredness, nausea, sore boobs, the lot. But for the last week or so i've completely lost my appetite. I normally eat really well, but right now everything either makes me feel like throwing up, or the smell makes me gag. Its even the case where I really fancy something specific to eat, make it, have 2 mouthfuls of it then can't make myself eat anymore.

I've had a look around and can't find another thread similar. Its worrying me slightly, since I know I need to eat, to keep myself and bubs healthy etc, but I just can't. So not like me.

Any ideas anyone? Or any ideas how to get something inside me for energy and so on?

I was exactly the same! Even now I sill cant say what I want to eat or fancy something.
It is hard as were supposed to be eating healthy but I've just picked at whats been made for me ( bless the OH ), or actually forced myself to eat.
I found it was worse the longer I went without food the more I didnt want to eat!
Hope you feel better soon. x

Yes, that's exactly it! My Mum keeps going on at me telling me I must eat, and I sit there thinking, its not like I don't want to! Even eating just a piece of fruit is a huge task.

Its just so strange since i'm the kind of person who only has to look at a chocolate bar and i put 5lbs on.

That is completely normal. Just be sure that you are getting alot of fluids and you will be okay. Don't worry so much about portions, and try eating really small meals every few hours. You will hopefully get over this soon, and then you won't be able to eat much because baby takes up all the room where your stomach should be!

Thanks for the reassurance, I was beginning to feel really anxious that i'd end up collapsing or something. I'm getting plenty of fluids so hopefully i'll be fine. Someone has just suggested smoothies to me, so i'm going to give that a bash too.

I go through phases too. Sometimes I can't eat anything, other times I can't stop stuffing my face. Its a cycle haha. But completely normal. Just make sure you're taking your prenatals and still drinking lots of water so you don't get dehyrdrated.

I had major problems with nausea in the first trimester. And honestly I didn't eat all that well, I focused on what I could eat that wouldn't make me sick (ate hamburger meat for a full month straight--poor hubby). If you can find something you can eat that doesn't make you sick and try to stick with that until the worst of the MS passes.
