Id say go for it, i have had 2 friends recently who went because they wernt able to tell in their 20 wk scan and they both said it was an amazing experience to see the baby again and in 3d they were really pleased and recommended it.
If u have the money i would def say yes. The more u get to see ur baby in ur belly the better!! Its ur choice and u do what u feel like doing!! babies are so special and precious when there growing inside u and getting a glimpse of that is just amazing! xx

Hi, I also agree that if you can afford it you should definetely have it done. Private scans are completely different from the ones you get on the NHS, I have had two private scans so far and plan on having another one between my 20 week scan and when bubbas due. Probably between 28 and 32 weeks or something because as someone else said it's a long time between your 20 week scan and bubs being born. I love the fact that you can see the baby in much more detail and they spend about 30 to 40 minutes scanning you and letting you see everything there is to see. My scans were priceless and will give me many happy memories for years to come. Plus at my last one I got a dvd of bubs jumping around in my tummy, so I think that is a fantastic keepsake to show the little one when he or she is all grown up. xx

I think I'm going to book one for OH's birthday as a surprise as we're both desperate to find out the sex! I had such a bad experience at my 12 week NHS scan I'm dreading the next one so I think it's a small price to pay to be able to see the baby again. I'm also sure that if we get the same sonographer she won't tell us the sex or be arsey again.

I'm going to book a babybond scan for 8 weeks (my birthday) as I have this paranoia of discovering an MMC at my 12 weeks. We had one last time and it was such a relief x

I decided against this and decided to wait until our 21 week scan instead to find out the gender I bought bubs some clothes with the money instead. But if you really cannot wait and you ca afford it, then I dont see why not.

Athough we did pay for a private early dating scan at 10 weeks as my NHS one wasnt until 13 weeks and I needed to know everything was fine before then.
